Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Backend Developer to join our dynamic
engineering team. As a Backend Developer, you will be responsible for designing,
developing, and maintaining robust and scalable backend systems. You will work closely
with frontend developers, data scientists, and other team members to deliver high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Backend Development: Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java.
• API Development: Create RESTful APIs to expose backend services to frontend applications.
• Database Design: Design and implement efficient database schemas using SQL or NoSQL databases.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Deploy and manage applications on cloud platforms like AWS.
• Containerization: Utilize Docker to containerize applications and streamline deployment.
• Kubernetes: Leverage Kubernetes to orchestrate containerized applications.
• Performance Optimization: Identify and optimize performance bottlenecks in backend systems.
• Security: Implement robust security measures to protect backend systems and data.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in backend development using Java.
• Strong proficiency in Java programming language, including core Java concepts, object-oriented programming, and design patterns.
• Experience with popular Java frameworks like Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Hibernate.
• In-depth knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL).
• Proficiency in RESTful API design and development.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Strong understanding of containerization technologies like Docker.
• Experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with data streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).
• Understanding of security best practices for web applications.
• Proxy Server Configuration.
• Load Balancer and proxy server architecture on AWS and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of Google Cloud and Amazon AWS services (Serverless, Lambda, EC2, S3 Bucket).
• Experience with Code Build, Code Deploy, Code Pipeline, Code Star, ECR, Jenkins, Fargate, Elasticsearch, and Elastic Cache.
• Understanding of security best practices (encryption, authentication, authorization).
• Experience with microservices architecture.
