Roles and Responsibilities
Business Analyst
Strong understanding of financial markets and trade lifecycle:
Comprehensive knowledge of various financial instruments (e.g., equities, fixed income, derivatives)
Familiarity with the end-to-end trade lifecycle, from execution to settlement
Understanding of regulatory reporting requirements (e.g., MiFID II, EMIR, Dodd-Frank)
Awareness of settlement processes, including clearing houses and custodians
Excellent data analysis and problem-solving skills:
Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using tools like Excel, SQL, or Python
Ability to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in large datasets.
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
Experience in process mapping and optimization
Effective communication and stakeholder management:
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, non-technical language.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience in creating detailed business requirements documents and functional specifications.
Skill in managing relationships with various stakeholders, including traders, operations teams, IT, and external vendors.
Project management and process improvement expertise:
Experience in managing or contributing to projects related to trade reporting or settlement systems.
Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall)
Ability to identify inefficiencies and propose process improvements.
Understanding of change management principles and practices
