**Join Our Team as a Plant Engineer!**
We’re seeking an experienced and skilled Plant Engineer to play a critical role in our operations. As a key member of our engineering team, you’ll connect with our mechanical maintenance organization to minimize downtime, maximize equipment productivity, and ensure overall plant reliability.
As the go-to expert for mechanical input, you’ll provide insights on equipment design, reliability, and maintainability. Your expertise will help us optimize workflows, develop asset management systems, and implement preventative maintenance programs to eliminate downtime causes.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Develop and implement asset management systems to improve plant reliability and availability
* Analyze downtime root causes and implement corrective actions to minimize future occurrences
* Maintain utilities such as steam and power generation equipment, ensuring safe, secure, and efficient operations
* Oversee the vehicle fleet, guaranteeing safe and efficient use
* Ensure compliance with regulatory equipment inspections and maintain accurate records
**Supervisory Responsibilities:**
* Recruit, retain, and manage a team of mechanical foremen and artisans
* Lead performance management and development for the mechanical maintenance team
* Set and control the asset maintenance budget of $326M
* Manage resources, including personnel and contracts
**Occasional Duties:**
* Participate in capital expenditure execution by developing operational and maintenance requirements
* Contribute to strategic discussions on plant operations and participate in company activities (e.g., sports, health and safety)
**Requirements:**
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
* At least 5 years of experience as a plant or maintenance engineer in continuous operation, managing a team and budget
* Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
* Excellent interpersonal relations
**Desirable Skills:**
* Knowledge of asset management, including preventative maintenance, and Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) methodology
* Understanding of food manufacturing processes and quality management
* Experience with computerized maintenance management systems and tools like RCM
* Familiarity with EHS management and compliance
**Physical Demands:**
* Walking, standing, bending, climbing, and lifting heavy equipment may be required
* Long exposure to computer screens and noise levels in the factory
* Occasional on-call duties during weekends and holidays
**Financial Impact:**
* Inadequate performance can lead to financial losses due to poor plant output and increased maintenance costs
* Inadequate EHS compliance can result in legal costs and penalties
